How I’m Participating In NaNoWriMo

It’s been nine days since NaNoWriMo started. NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month, and it’s where a lot of people strive to writing a whole novel in just one month. Many fail, but so many people have succeeded this throughout the years.

Since I had a book in mind, I decided that I wanted to join the people and write a book, too! Only, my book isn’t going to be registered on the website, and it’s not even going to be a novel. Here is how I’m participating in NaNoWriMo.

I’m writing another non-fiction book that will be in my Resolution Series. The first book was all about saving money with month-to-month tips and tricks you could use throughout the year. This book, however, is going to be about something very passionate to me, and that is minimalism.

I’m changing the format of the original book in the series and instead of having a month-to-month guide, I’m having three large sections, or steps it you will. The first step of minimalism is stopping the madness. Putting a stop to the things making your life an unorganized, busy, stressful, cluttered mess is key before you start trying to remove these things. Or, you’ll be stuck trying to get out forever. We have to stop what’s coming in before we begin to detoxify our lives.

Which brings us to the second step: detoxifying, purging, cleansing. This section is going to be about getting rid of your stuff, bad relationships, time suckers, debt, commitments that don’t make you happy and stress. And, of course, the third step is maintenance.

I’ve been thinking of this book for awhile and really need the push of National Novel Writing Month to get me started. The Resolution Series is a series of books that help people keep their resolutions. I’m hoping the book will be available sometime in January as the last book was.

So, part of my November has been filled with 1666 words a day for the book. I hope to have a good chunk written by the end of the month, and I will keep you updated on the progress!
